John Collet

Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) and Operations Manager
Education And Background

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from California State University, Chico.

While at Chico, I also expanded my studies to include coursework in world religions. Gaining a deeper understanding of diverse belief systems and cultural values has strengthened my ability to serve clients from a wide range of backgrounds. Financial decisions are deeply personal, and I believe understanding what matters most to each client is essential to building meaningful, lasting relationships.

From the beginning of my academic career, I knew I wanted to be a financial advisor, and finance has always been much more than a field of study. For me, it’s a way to help individuals and families build clarity, confidence, and long-term security.

During my senior year in college, I began pursuing the credentials necessary to enter the advisory profession, and I started my career at Simple Life Financial as a college intern. After graduation, I joined the team full time and gradually increased my responsibilities.

Professional Experience

I currently serve as the firm’s Operations Manager where my focus is client support, including onboarding new clients, creating financial plans, and rebalancing portfolios. Personal financial planning is my primary focus. I work closely with clients to create thoughtful strategies tailored to their goals, risk tolerance, and stage of life. I am a licensed Investment Advisor Representative with a “Series 65” certification.

In addition to my investment advisory credentials, I maintain a Life and Health insurance license because financial security, for most people, also involves things like life and health insurance. The American healthcare system is complex, and navigating coverage options can be overwhelming. Having grown up with a mother who worked as an ICU nurse, I’ve seen firsthand how unexpected injuries and illnesses can negatively impact a family’s finances.
